With a special gift for melody and an expressive range from the most delicately intimate to explosively epic, Patrick Savage is a young British/Australian film composer/orchestrator fast establishing a great reputation in Europe and the United States.  Trained at the Royal College of Music in London, Patrick has scored numerous films on both sides of the Atlantic.  

 

Patrick is also principal first violin with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London and the former leader of the eminent British chamber ensemble, The Tippett Quartet.   As a musician he has acquired an enormous depth of musical knowledge from across the entire spectrum of music and has performed and recorded with many of the the most notable musicians and composers of our time.  He also has a wealth of experience working as a musician on such film scores as the Academy Award winning Lord of the Rings' Trilogy, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Mr Bean 2 and Valiant.  

 

For several years he was resident composer for the Enigmatic Film company in London, and has scored their entire, sizable output of experimental short films.

 

He has also written for Open Rhodes production company, and scored their web-based sitcom series, Lee's Sitcom which was distributed by Virgin - one of the first internet-based comedy shows.

 

Films he has scored have featured and won awards at major film festivals around the world, including DC Shorts, the LA Short Film Festval, FrightFest in London and Fantasporto in Portugal, among many others.
